My methodology is based on two philosophies:
1) The student should have the maximum possible opportunity to use and practice their language skills in class.
2) All my classes are fun, relevant and interesting for you as an individual.
In addition to these general rules, I also use several specific teaching techniques:
1) Eliciting: Many times, the correct answer is on the tip of your tongue... I use real life drawings, demonstrations and objects so that you understand the meaning of the words I'm teaching.
2) Concept Check Questions: I ask them to really verify that you have understood the ideas I am trying to communicate.
3) Student Talk Time: The main complaint that students have about "bad teachers" is "The teacher does not give me the opportunity to use the language in class." To learn a language, a student must have MANY opportunities to practice the language, and that is why I give you a lot of time for you to express yourself in English. At the end of your first class, you won't believe how much confident you feel with your English skills!
4) Error Correction: There is definitely a right and wrong way to correct your mistakes. My method of error correction is patient and effective, and focuses on helping you understand WHY the mistake was made in the first place so that it doesn't happen again in the future.
