About Lenora

I have been tutoring and teaching English language informally for more than 15 years. I tutor local high-school students to improve English language use and application in assignments. I also provide guidance and support with university applications and interview practice. I have also been teaching ESL to individuals and small groups since 2017. I hold a TESOL qualification (high pass and distinction), which enables me to teach ESL internationally. I teach ESL to meet Canadian Benchmark levels, CELPIP, IELTS and other exam preparations. The difference between a good teacher and a great teacher is the skill they have in helping you reach your full potential. I believe I am able to help you apply the full scope of your existing abilities and acquire those areas of knowledge you still need to master. Testimonial – R.D. About the lesson

I have a passion for the English language and its usage. I concentrate on the use and application of language over theory as my experience over more than 15 years has shown that for most students this is the area where help is needed. I teach locally in Calgary and Foothills (Okotoks, High River, Black Diamond, Longview, etc.) as well as online. My role is to work with you to succeed in the challenges you face or those you set yourself. You may be focused on improving school marks or preparing for an exam. My method of tutoring and teaching helps increase your assignment and exam scores through strengthening your subject knowledge, comprehension, and writing skills. An assessment of language needs/level is the first step, and from this we design lesson plans, mostly on a week-by-week basis. In this way we work as a team, ensuring that the lessons address those areas of English language you need help with. This also enables stronger interaction and scope in the lesson plans and fluid, interesting content. Online lessons include screen sharing and immediate feedback on exercises. Homework is optional and dependent not only on pace of learning required by the student, but also on their home/school schedules. Many students design their learning around real-life situations, such as work, family, studies. Local students can switch between online and in-person lessons at any time.

Details

Payments for multiple lessons can save you as much as $100. All lessons must be paid in advance. A lesson can be rescheduled up to two hours before start of class without loss of fee. Local students can switch between online and in-person by giving two hours notice. Where travel to an in-person lesson has commenced the full fee will be due even if student is unable to attend.
