About Luís Felipe
Methodology focused on meeting the greatest difficulty of students, which is usually conversation. First step will be to understand the level of the student, I will make a basic assessment of knowledge in vocabulary, grammar, ability to understand and interpret short texts in English, in order to outline the best strategy. From there, we will focus on the student's goal. For conversation or writing comprehension classes, I look for current topics on the news to read and have a chat in English. I will recommend activities to try outside of class hours (songs to listen to, videos / series / movies to watch with English subtitles / without subtitles, podcasts or texts in English, etc). If the focus is TOEFL, we will work with preparation for the test model and simulated tests, but also using the mentioned tools so it doesn't get too monotonous. Finally, the goal of the classes is to tackle students' greatest difficulties with the maximum dynamism and effectiveness possible. :)

I am an Energy Engineer graduated from the Federal University of Itajubá, with a one-year experience in the US through the Science Without Borders program during graduation, having lived in Alfred / NY for 9 months studying Renewable Energy Engineering at Alfred University and Chicago / IL during 3 months in a summer internship also in the Energy area at the Illinois Institute of Technology. After that I had some more international experience traveling to tourism. And I had experience of just over a year teaching English at the Washington Academy of English, as well as self-taught private lessons.
