About Sofia
I am a student at the University of Florida with a strong academic background in math and chemistry. I have completed the math sequence up until Calculus 3, as well as AP Chemistry and Chemistry 1 and 2, earning strong grades throughout. In addition to my coursework, I have experience working at Mathnasium, where I helped students of all ages understand math concepts in a clear and supportive way. I have also worked as a babysitter, which has helped me develop patience, responsibility, and strong communication skills with children.

My lessons are flexible and tailored to each student's needs. I base sessions on the student's current homework and class material. Before we start, I ask what topics they feel stuck on so we can focus our time efficiently. During lessons, I like to make sure the student understands problems conceptually instead of constantly memorizing new formulas. I encourage questions and I adjust my pace depending on the student's level. I work best with middle school, high school, and introductory college-level students who want clear explanations and help with real assignments. My goal is to help students feel comfortable with the material, gain confidence, and eventually find these subjects fun.
