About Mercy

I am a life-long learner and I've been tutoring my fellow students since high school. I was appointed as a TA while in high school for the grade 12 Pre-Calculus class and currently run tutorials for McGill's Engineering Calculus 3, MATH 262.
As a result of all this, I have experience working with different learning styles and over time, I've learned a wide variety of strategies to teach similar topics. However, I'm still open to learning and growing as a tutor, so this process is not about trying to force information into the student, but to present the information in a manner that they come to understand it.

About the lesson

I am able to target weakness in certain skills, build those up, and then connect them to the big picture of whatever is being taught at school.
My strategies involve a lot of critical thinking on the part of the student, having them not just use formulas and perform routines, but helping them understand the why behind those routines. This strategy will enable them to replicate those skills even under a high-stress environment.
