About Mariano
I have been studying English since I was seven years old, and I still do. I learned a lot with practice and (almost always) good teachers, but mostly with songs, books and movies that awoke in me a much closer affinity and familiarity with the Beatles' language. It was not easy or fast, but over time I could understand and improve the strengths of my learning, and that is what I try to convey in these encounters. While I was studying at the Lenguas Vivas Traductorado (Translation studies), I did an internship to translate films for a festival, and from then on I worked for many other film festivals, among other things. After a period of being more into artistic tasks, I started turning to English classes, in groups, individually, and in companies. Currently I have groups of kids where we approach English learning in a creative and playful way, and I also have students, teenagers and adults, where after all I think I do the same! Each student or group has a specific need, so I try to understand what they are looking for and guide that search in the most entertaining way possible.

My name is Mariano, and I teach English and work as a translator. I meet children, teenagers and adults at my classes. Individually, or in groups. I try to stimulate a more dynamic, fun and personal relationship with learning English. I like to use non-traditional materials, such as fragments of films, videos, songs, games, literature, etc., to encourage a less solemn and repetitive approach, and help establish a closer and familiar relationship with a language that may not be your own, but which might be owned.
