About Alexandra

Hello! I'm an experienced English tutor with over five years' teaching experience, specialising in conversational English, Business English, IELTS preparation, Cambridge exam preparation and academic English. I have taught more than 1,400 online lessons to adult learners from around the world and previously worked in a language school preparing students for Cambridge B1–C1 examinations, as well as teaching teenagers and adults.

My lessons are friendly, structured and tailored to your goals. Whether you're preparing for an exam, improving your confidence in everyday conversation, developing your professional English or strengthening your grammar and writing skills, I'll create lessons that are engaging, practical and personalised to your needs.

As a language learner myself, I understand the challenges of learning another language. I speak Spanish (B2 – Instituto Cervantes Diploma) and have also studied French, Italian, Catalan, German, Polish and Swedish. This gives me a strong understanding of the language-learning process and enables me to explain grammar clearly and anticipate common learner difficulties.

I hold over 600 hours of professional teacher training, including an Ofqual-regulated Level 5 TEFL qualification, a Level 7 TESOL diploma, an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Teaching and Learning, plus specialist qualifications in Business English, IELTS preparation, advanced grammar, online teaching and teaching groups. I also hold an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Alongside teaching, I have worked as a Teaching Administrator at a leading UK university and have extensive professional experience in administration, executive support and business environments. This means I can confidently teach workplace English, business communication and specialist vocabulary in areas such as finance, project management, Agile and Scrum.

I am currently expanding my expertise into GCSE English Language and English Literature tutoring, combining my extensive ESL background with UK curriculum knowledge to support both native and multilingual learners.

My aim is simple: to help you become a confident, independent English user in a relaxed, supportive and enjoyable learning environment. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals!

About the lesson

Every lesson is tailored to your individual goals, whether you want to improve your conversational English, Business English, grammar, pronunciation, writing, exam preparation or overall confidence. With more than five years of online teaching experience working with learners from A2 to C2, I'll create a personalised learning plan using high-quality resources and proven teaching methods.

Our first lesson is a needs analysis, where we'll discuss your objectives, assess your current level and identify the areas you'd like to improve. From there, I'll design a bespoke learning programme to help you achieve your goals at a pace that suits you.

Lessons are carefully structured to build confidence and maintain continuity. We'll begin with a brief review of previous learning before moving on to engaging speaking activities, grammar practice, reading and listening exercises, vocabulary development and authentic materials. Each lesson is supported by a professionally designed PowerPoint presentation, which you'll receive afterwards for revision.

I use a wide range of interactive resources, including Wordwall, Quizlet and other digital learning tools, to make lessons enjoyable and memorable. You'll also receive personalised vocabulary, pronunciation feedback and practical strategies to help you retain new language and continue improving between lessons.

Having taught everyone from university students to directors, CEOs, IT professionals and healthcare staff, I'm comfortable adapting lessons to a wide variety of professional and academic contexts. I can also help with presentations, meetings, interviews, workplace communication and public speaking.

Throughout each lesson, I provide supportive corrections without interrupting the natural flow of conversation, followed by clear feedback, recommendations and optional homework to consolidate your learning. Whether you're looking for a structured programme or relaxed conversation practice, my aim is to help you become a confident, fluent English speaker in a friendly, motivating and professional environment.
