About Zack
My name is Zack, I’m 26, and I love soccer, nature, history, and getting to know people! While I was an environmental science major at Emory University, I’ve always had an affinity for math and a natural ability to explain concepts in intuitive and palatable terms. I am very personable, funny, and understanding, as I have ADD myself and have experienced the frustrations that can arise in the classroom. I just spent the past year teaching two sections of precalculus and two sections of geometry at the Millbrook School in Millbrook NY, and I spent the spring of 2024 helping teach math at the Indian Mountain School in Lakeville Connecticut.

I’ve always preferred working one-on-one rather than lecturing to an entire class, as it enables me to understand each student’s approach and individual strengths as well as blind spots. I believe in asking questions that nudge students towards making realizations and making connections on their own rather than just saying “okay this is how it is and it just is that way so remember that.” As a result, I like to employ games and activities when I can!
