About AmyMarie
Current Electrical Engineering student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. A woman with a passion for robotics and helping kids grow their interest in STEM! Professional experience includes; worked at Mathnasium as a math instructor for K-12 students, in a group setting and individually. Currently tutoring part-time while interning at Ameren. Recently completed nearly two years at an engineering consultation firm (International Electronic Machines Corporation) as an engineering lab assistant. On a more personal note though, I love working with kids and making learning fun! Giving context to a question and then guiding them through applications of the context in problems is my main method of teaching.

I believe in patience and that everyone has the potential to understand a subject if it’s taught the right way. A lesson with me has an emphasis on compassion and building self esteem up. Too often kids can feel left behind or judged if they don’t quite understand a problem to a larger degree than they feel they can voice. I want to help bridge the gaps of learning so that a fuller understanding and higher degree of confidence is the end result. Homework focused lessons is ideal, however if more of a curriculum is needed we can most definitely come up with one!
