About Sophia

I am an elementary and middle school teacher. I teach all subjects in K - 5 and focus primarily on math in Grade 8. I have experience with Algebra 1 and preparing students for all state exams and Math regents exams.

About the lesson

I base all my lessons on a constructivist approach to learning. I work to build a conceptual understanding of the subject matter and I believe that the only way students can do this is through inquiry and making connections between the content presented and their prior knowledge.

Sophia is very knowledgeable and gives all her energy to her students. She works very hard to make sure they know the steps to completing a problem and the logic behind it. She’s a wonderful teacher!
