About Vidhyuth
I'm a junior at Dougherty Valley High School with a strong academic record across math and science, including a 4.0 unweighted GPA. Outside the classroom, I'm involved in research in cancer genomics and machine learning applications in healthcare, which has given me a deep appreciation for how math is applicable in real life issues.
I've been teaching for two years at a foreign language school, which taught me how to explain the same concept in multiple different ways depending on what clicks for each student. I'm also active in Scouts BSA, where I've taken on leadership roles, and I compete in badminton, so I understand what it's like to balance schoolwork with other commitments, and I try to bring that same patience and structure to tutoring.
I got into tutoring because I like the moment when something finally makes sense to a student, and I want to help others build the same confidence in math that I've built through my own experience.

I focus on breaking calculus down into the "why" behind each concept, not just memorizing formulas. When a student is stuck, I like to backtrack to the algebra or precalc gap that's actually causing the problem instead of just re-explaining the same thing.
A typical lesson starts with reviewing what's confusing from recent homework or class notes, then I'll walk through a few problems together, gradually stepping back so the student is doing more of the work by the end. I always leave time for practice problems and make sure they can explain the steps back to me before we wrap up.
What sets me apart is that I've spent the last two years teaching in a classroom setting at a foreign language school, so I'm used to adjusting explanations for different learning styles instead of just repeating the textbook version. I've also earned an A in every math course through AP Calculus AB, and I have a strong STEM research background that lets me connect calculus to real-world applications when that helps something click.
My lessons work well for middle school through high school students in algebra, precalc, or calculus, especially anyone who needs a patient, structured approach rather than just answer-checking.
