About Jamaica
Hi! I’m Jamaica Oboc, a Mathematics graduate passionate about making math clear, approachable, and stress-free. I know that math can often feel overwhelming, so my goal is to break down basic concepts into simple, step-by-step pieces that actually make sense. Whether you are struggling to keep up, trying to fill in learning gaps, or just looking to build solid foundational skills, I offer a patient and judgment-free environment where you can learn at your own pace and build real confidence.

My approach focuses on making basic math intuitive, stress-free, and practical. Instead of forcing rote memorization, I break complex ideas into small, digestible steps using real-world analogies and visual aids.
Interactive Problem-Solving: I guide students through problems rather than just lecturing, encouraging them to explain their thought process so we can identify exact sticking points.
Pacing & Patience: We move at the student's natural speed, reinforcing fundamental rules until they feel 100% natural.
Typical Lesson Plan (60 Minutes)*
Warm-Up & Review (10 mins): Quick review of the previous lesson or a brief low-pressure warm-up exercise to build momentum.
Concept Introduction (15 mins): Clear, simple explanation of the day's core topic using interactive examples and real-life scenarios.
Guided Practice (20 mins): Working through exercises together—I model the approach first, then we tackle problems side-by-side.
Independent Check & Wrap-Up (15 mins): The student solves a couple of problems independently to confirm mastery, followed by a quick recap and clear action items for next time.
What Sets Me Apart
As a mathematics graduate, I deeply understand how math concepts connect from the ground up. This background allows me to pinpoint foundational gaps quickly and explain why rules work in simple, plain language—without overly technical jargon. I create a safe, judgment-free space where asking questions and making mistakes are welcomed as key parts of learning.
