About Paula
Fully qualified and experienced Primary school teacher with a passion for reading and writing, digital design and media as well as creativity.
I have been teaching within primary school environments for roughly ten years now, my most recent position overseeing the education and learning of four grade levels (3 to 6).
My grandparents maintained a passion for learning and my grandmother, being both an artist and highschool English teacher, encouraged me to be creative whenever I could and introduced my true love for the written word when she introduced me to Jane Austen at age 13.

I believe that teaching is more than just imparting knowledge, its inspiring change and further learning. Learning is more than absorbing facts, its utilised to empower and acquire understanding. In my position, I oversaw the education of four grade levels and managed to apply and planned the Australian curriculum according to the learning needs of each of my students. I had many different learning levels in the class which meant learning and lessons either had to be simplified or extended for some students. I also took great pride in teaching life lessons to my students and presenting them with realistic problem-solving situations and financial theory. I believe my greatest strength as a teacher is to show students how to plan and schedule their school lives, how to read between the lines, look at techniques from another angle if struggling with a concept and how to utilise higher order thinking into their daily routines.
