About Tyler

I graduated high school Suma Cum Laude, with a 4.3 GPA and with honors. The highest math I have taken up to now is Calculus 1, which I passed with a high B average. I am a current college student taking Precalculus to satisfy degree requirements as a Criminal Justice major. As someone who has several siblings that have struggled with math, I feel equipped and eager to teach others undergoing the same struggles. That being said, I also know how to work with younger students in a manner that fosters a friendly, stress-free environment for both the student and the parents. A huge goal of mine is to alleviate the parental stress of teaching their kids math that they learned years ago and save them long, argument-filled nights while helping students catch up and stay on track. My biggest goal, however, is to provide you or your child a quality, affordable tutoring option.

About the lesson

Common Core can be a pain, so I try to break things down for my students in easy-to-understand lessons rather than repeating words from a textbook. I like to integrate real-world examples and implement the EDGE method: Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, and Enable. This way, students are more engaged and master topics more easily and efficiently. I am open to tutoring any age from K-12, as well as other college students.

I have known Tyler for several years. He was one of the top students in my AP Government & Politics class last year. I have also had the pleasure of knowing Tyler through our youth group at church. Tyler is an extremely upstanding person. He is highly intelligent and capable of tutoring other students. I have been an educator for 25 years, and I would say he ranks in the top 5% of all my students. He is so dedicated to his education, and also to his faith. He is the oldest of 7 children, so the role of mentor comes naturally to him. Also, this has fostered responsibilities that have allowed him to become such a mature and dependable young man. He is extremely dedicated to his Christian faith, and has taken leadership roles among his peers. Without a doubt, I would trust Tyler to work with other students, and I believe he would be more than capable of tutoring other students while showing extreme care and patience in the process!
