About Cali
Hi! I’m Cali, a nursing student with a background in education and a passion for helping others succeed. Before nursing school, I earned my degree in Political Science from the University of Houston and worked as a teacher, where I developed a strong foundation in explaining complex concepts, adapting to different learning styles, and helping students build confidence in their abilities.
Now, as a nursing student, I understand firsthand how overwhelming nursing school can be. From anatomy and physiology to pathophysiology, pharmacology, health assessment, and NCLEX-style questions, I know how much information nursing students are expected to learn and apply.
My goal as a tutor is to make difficult material feel more manageable by breaking concepts down into clear, understandable steps. Rather than simply memorizing information, I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind what they’re learning so they can apply their knowledge to clinical situations and nursing-style questions.
Whether you’re preparing for an exam, struggling with a specific concept, or looking for help developing better study and test-taking strategies, I’d love to help you feel more confident in nursing school!

I like to engage learners using teachback sessions, including videos, pictures, and real world examples. Connecting to your learning style is important, so I also offer tips on how to study on your own in the most effective way for your learning style. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I have previously been a teacher and have extensive knowledge in providing appropriate lessons for each individual person.
