About Dana

My name is Dana, I'm 24 years old and I'm a digital consultant in Geneva.

Previously, I followed all my schooling in French education (Lycée Français Anna de Noailles in Bucharest), at the end of which I obtained a Scientific Baccalaureate with honors and the marks of 19/20 and 17/ 20 respectively in the written and oral French tests. I then joined the IE Business School in Madrid, ranked among the top ten business schools worldwide, where I pursued a Double Degree in Business Administration and International Relations (Bac +5), entirely in English. During the third year of my course, I was selected to undertake my university exchange at Sciences Po Paris. I am therefore very comfortable with writing/dissertations in French as well as in English. I then took the Specialized Masters in Industrial Engineering (Supply Chain) at the Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées.

My career has allowed me to acquire many skills, including interpersonal skills, an ease in communicating and explaining my words, an enthusiasm for teaching and a unique openness in terms of involvement, empathy and accessibility when the student has a doubt or a question, I remain at his disposal at any time during the year.

About the lesson

It was during my studies that I started giving private lessons. Today I give lessons to one of the students of all levels (primary, college, high school, preparation, business school). I intervene for all types of objectives, as vast and different as they are (help / proofreading of writing, preparation for exams such as IELTS or TOEFL, help in the preparation of a file to be admitted in a training graduate studies, etc.). To sum up, I help students who have more or less profound difficulties in the subject, those who aim for excellence or who have more general concerns in school results for example.

As far as the methodology is concerned, the courses take place as follows: first, we review the course (essential to succeed in the exercises), we work together on the points that have not been understood, then we exercises (of increasing difficulty). The objective is to restore the student's confidence and this first of all requires mastery of the course. Generally, I have the course recited at the beginning of each session, which allows me to know what has been retained and what has been forgotten or misunderstood. Once the student understands and retains his course, the progress is considerable and allows the student to succeed in homework and essays, among others.

In addition, I make sure to establish with the student an order of priority by dealing with the most urgent homework or those that require the most concentration, before tackling the less immediate tasks and the exercises that are easier to access. The sessions aim to guide the student without giving him the answers, in order to allow him to really progress. If the student stumbles on an exercise, I offer him another on the same concept, but less difficult, then I come back to it later.

Finally, I attach great importance to the human aspect. Indeed, I communicate and exchange a lot with students and parents at the end of class hours.
