About Ivan

I have been teaching ESL for 6 years, working with 150-200 high school and college students. My mission is to help students improve their English, gain confidence, and succeed academically and personally. Teaching is more than a profession for me—it is a way to empower students and open doors to new opportunities.

I focus on interactive, practical, and student-centred lessons that develop speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills. I use real-life examples, exercises, and personalised guidance to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. I also emphasise confidence-building, independence, and effective communication so students feel capable of expressing themselves clearly and confidently.

Some of my proudest milestones include students speaking fluently for the first time, writing essays with clarity, improving exam results, and actively participating in discussions. These achievements inspire me to continue teaching with creativity, passion, and dedication.

I strive to create a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment where students feel empowered to learn, take risks, and grow. Teaching ESL is my passion, and I am committed to helping students succeed while fostering a lifelong love for English.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology combines practical learning, real-life application, and motivation. I use real-life examples and case studies to make lessons engaging and relatable, helping students apply English confidently in everyday life, academics, and professional situations.

I emphasise motivation, encouraging learners to stay curious, celebrate achievements, and set realistic learning goals. Problem-solving is central to my teaching, guiding students to overcome difficulties in speaking, writing, reading, and listening with structured strategies and support.

Integrity is a cornerstone of my approach. I provide honest feedback, maintain transparency, and foster a safe and respectful learning environment. I also practise flexibility, tailoring lessons to each student’s pace, learning style, and interests.

Besides ESL, I teach related subjects such as communication skills, study strategies, and cultural knowledge to help students gain confidence, independence, and practical English skills.
