Hey! I am Sanika, and I am a third-year computing science student at the University of Alberta. I have a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, algorithms and many coding languages. I am passionate about helping students build strong foundations in mathematical concepts and help them gain confidence in mathematics and coding:)

I use a clear, concept-focused teaching approach that helps students truly understand the material rather than memorizing it. I break down difficult concepts into simple steps, adapt to each student’s learning style, and focus on building a strong foundation in the subject and problem-solving skills.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous concepts, followed by a clear explanation of new material. We then work through examples together and practice more problems, and at the end there is a short recap of what we learned in the specific lesson.
What sets me apart is my ability to simplify complex topics and explain them in a more student-friendly and easy way. I am patient and supportive, and I focus on building confidence alongside strong problem-solving skills rather than rote learning. Having experience with being an academic tutor at my University, I have experience with different tutoring skills and engaging with students.
My lessons are suitable for middle school, high school students and first- or second-year university students. I tutor mathematics (algebra and trigonometry) and introductory coding concepts such as algorithms.
