About Lewis
I am a working actor, writer, director and artistic director. As an actor, in the last three years I have worked with the National Theatre, RSC, and in the West End in award-winning shows, with award-winning teams and casts.
I have over 10+ years of experience in writing, directing, and workshop leading. I was a member of National Youth Theatre of GB, where I also became a facilitator of courses and workshops. I have a 1st Class degree in Acting from Rose Bruford College, a drama school famous for actors such as Gary Oldman, Stephen Graham and Hayley Squires to name a few. I was trained predominantly in Meisner, with a focus on keeping the actor safe and using imaginary circumstances to create a fully realised and three-dimensional character that is believable to audiences. That said, I am also versed in Stanislavski, Chekov and Uta Hagen's techniques too.

My lessons will give you a classic approach but highlight your own uniqueness and skills to make sure that your acting is not manufactured or wooden and feels authentic to you. I will focus on the following: AUDITION TECHNIQUE (Including Drama School, NYT + Self Tapes): Here we will look at what a successful audition looks like. Simulated auditions, self tape setup + framing/lighting, monologue/duologue work.
TEXT ANALYSIS: Here will do in depth analysis of various text types to give you a full range of understanding. This will include full plays/scripts to help with your writing technique (an understanding of writing technique will fundamentally help you as an actor), uniting texts, verb analysis, poetry analysis, poetry creation and much more. The beginning of every great actor starts with the text.
VOCAL TECHNIQUE: We will look at vocal exercises to improve vocal technique, clarity/diction and muscularity to give your voice the dynamism it needs to be an engaging and real character.
PHYSICAL TECHNIQUE: We will engage in a brief warm up together where necessary so that you are physically released and capable to perform. This will also include learning stage presence and 'being in your body', again to create a fully realised character.
COOLDOWN and SELF REFLECTION: Getting out of character (where necessary) and reflecting on the session we've completed. Send me a message - I am more than happy to answer your questions!
