About Richard
Hello, and great to meet you! Congratulations on starting your journey in further understanding mathematics. You've already taken the first step in looking for a tutor!

Prior to working in tech, I was a skilled and dedicated middle school math teacher who loved helping students understand the world through the language of math. Whether it's algebra, trig, or statistics, it is a joy to help inspire a love of math in my students.
For lessons, I'm happy to do online, or travel within 10 miles of the 98103 area code. (If you're a little farther and still want to work together, feel free to reach out. I'm happy to make reasonable exceptions).

My lesson structure will vary based on the student's learning styles and goals of time together. Prior to our first lesson, I will ask you to share what content you or your student is working on, as well as what goals you have. This can help us hit the ground running and make the most of our first lesson.
Most importantly, I'll help your student understand the foundations of their content, helping them excel as independent thinkers.
I have experience teaching 6th-8th grade level math as a certified teacher in Missouri, with extensive experience tutoring high school students in Pre-calc/Calc, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Economics (my major!) and more.
