About Savannah
I am a CELTA-qualified English tutor with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English and Creative Writing. I was born and raised in the United States and moved to the UK as a teenager, so I understand both American and British English, as well as the cultural differences that can affect communication.
My academic background has given me a strong understanding of language, tone, structure and expression. I enjoy helping international learners feel more confident using English in real situations, especially when preparing for study, interviews, presentations and everyday life in the UK.
My teaching style is warm, patient and professional. I know that speaking in another language can feel intimidating, so I aim to create a supportive space where students can practise, ask questions, make mistakes and build confidence step by step.

My lessons help international students build the English confidence they need for UK study, academic communication and everyday life.
In the first session, I identify your current level, goals and the situations where English feels most difficult. Lessons are then tailored around your needs, whether you are preparing for university interviews, seminars, presentations, academic discussions, written work or everyday communication in the UK.
A typical lesson is 50 minutes and may include guided conversation, pronunciation support, vocabulary building, reading or writing feedback, role play, homework checks and practical correction. We can practise how to answer questions clearly, explain your ideas, join discussions, ask for help, and communicate more naturally with tutors, classmates and other people in daily life.
My approach is warm, structured and confidence-building. Students often value my clear lesson structure, careful preparation, detailed feedback and lessons tailored to their individual needs. Lessons are best suited to older students, university-bound learners and adult ESOL students, usually from intermediate to advanced level.

My standard lesson rate is £35 per hour.
The first free session is a 30-minute diagnostic and goal-setting call. We will discuss your current level, your study goals, and the situations where you most need English — such as university interviews, seminars, presentations, academic discussions, written work or everyday communication in the UK.
Lesson packs are available for students who want regular support:
* 5-hour pack: £165
* 10-hour pack: £320
These packs are ideal if you want a structured start and consistent progress over several weeks. Light homework or practice tasks can be provided between lessons when useful, and I’m happy to review agreed homework as part of your ongoing learning plan.
