About Philip
Chalk dust on my sleeves reminds me of those early hours spent solving endless equations at Carnegie Mellon University. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics there before beginning my 9 years of teaching.
My focus areas include implicit differentiation, integration techniques, and derivatives. I regularly help students navigate the chain rule, curve sketching, and integrals. Exam technique is a major component of my guidance.
I also break down applications of derivatives, integration by parts, and related rates to ensure total clarity. I guarantee a rigorous yet supportive environment for every learner.

Simple memorization often creates more confusion than it solves for calculus students. We begin by untangling the logic behind the formulas rather than blindly applying them. My method relies on weekly problem sets with feedback to reinforce your understanding. This structure mimics the demands of actual exams.
I have guided 245 students through these exact hurdles. My degree ensures I can explain the why behind the how. One concept leads to another seamlessly.
I truly enjoy seeing the moment a difficult proof finally clicks. Precision matters in mathematics.
