I believe that through scaffolding knowledge with a emphasis of relating new ideas with previous experience build the new neuro-pathways far quicker than standard rote memorization, or repetitive learning techniques. For instance writing about subjects of interest to the student rather than writing about topics given by the teacher allows students to express themselves and be interested in completing the assignment well.
