She has a strong English foundation and is able to focus on her English improvement for 2 hours a day, which will result in a noticeable advancement in spoken and listening skills in particular, along with targeted business writing.

Yessica, will work on use of verb tenses to expand beyond the use of the present simple, expand her vocabulary, and improve her active listening. She will engage in the English language community, and do some written assignments.

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I have been fascinated by different cultures and languages all my life. At the age of 8, we moved to Germany and I was hurled into a world with words I didn't understand. I recall the kindness of the other children who patiently taught me German. The first word I learned was Fahrad (bicycle) and it was the beginning of a lifelong passion of learning new languages. I overcame other language barriers in Asia and Latin America, as we moved from country to country. I decided I had to learn and perfect languages in my new environment because I wanted to be able to speak with other human beings that did not have the same language and culture as me. These early experiences shaped a lifelong passion for travelling, language, food and connecting with people as much as I can in every new place.
What makes you passionate about your subject?
I love helping people. When I help someone learn English, it helps them open doors to new possibilities that life has to offer, whether personal or professional. Knowing multiple languages is the key to connecting with people from around the world and it is my pleasure to help each person succeed in this manner.
What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
I love tailoring each class to the specific needs of the student so they can realize their goals. It is exciting to witness the student's growth and I especially enjoy the Aha! moments. In a 1:1 class setting, I can focus on exactly what will help each student grow to their best potential. The success of my students is my success.
Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
I was deeply inspired by my father's boss because she spoke seven languages fluently. As a teenager, I admired her ability to speak all those languages so well. I aspired to be able to do the same thing. While I do not speak seven languages, I have an excellent understanding of three and am learning a fourth language.
What are your keys to success?
Having insight into what it is like being a language learner has given me the ability to be a successful teacher. I have learned three languages and know exactly what it feels like to learn a new language. It is sometimes intimidating and frustrating, and as a teacher, I believe it is very important to be understanding, kind and patient.
