About Luz
I am a Mechanical Engineer and university lecturer with over 8 years of professional experience in engineering and more than 3 years of teaching experience in Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering Sciences. My background spans medical device manufacturing, HVAC systems, and technical project management, which allows me to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications. As an educator, I have taught Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and Mathematics at the university level, while also advising students on their final design projects. This has equipped me with strong mentoring skills and a proven ability to simplify complex topics into clear, step-by-step explanations. My Teaching Method & Techniques
I believe that every student learns differently, so I adjust my approach based on their needs and learning style. I start by assessing the student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals, then design lessons that simplify complex concepts into easy-to-understand steps. I use real-world examples, problem-solving exercises, and visual aids (diagrams, charts, graphs) to make abstract ideas in mathematics and physics more concrete.
I emphasize understanding over memorization. For problem-based subjects like algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, I encourage students to “think out loud” so I can guide their reasoning and correct misconceptions early. I also assign practice problems that progressively increase in difficulty to build confidence and mastery.
