About Ofelia
"Teaching feels more like a jam session than a lecture because I prefer grit over theory. After 10 years of gigging across the East Coast and earning my BMus in Jazz Guitar from the University of North Texas, I realized that technical drills mean nothing if the music lacks soul. Students often come to me stuck in pentatonic patterns or struggling with basic barre chords.
I guide them through everything from reading tabs and sheet music to mastering fingerpicking or power chords. It is about making sure those scales actually sound like music rather than just shapes on a chart."
