How can yoga benefit you in your own life?

What are the different styles that I can practice?

Let’s go right from the start. Discover what is your ‘Why’. Why are you wanting to start Yoga

Are you wanting to go hardcore into yoga right from the get go? Maybe Hot yoga might be the extreme launch into the world of yoga you need. Sweat through some full on sessions with vigor and grit.

If you find yourself in the details and like a challenge, then maybe Iyengar yoga will be your starting point. In this you will learn all about alignment and launch into details like precision and technique. Which could be good if you have already mastered some basic poses.

Maybe your wanting a more spiritual experience? Then look no further than Kundalini. This is not for the weak and can be a very deep and meditative experience.

Other types include:

  • Yin yoga Want to start in a small but fun way? Yin Yoga is good for drawing your awareness back to the moment. It’s very meditative and promotes becoming a human pretzel slowly but surely with its movements.
  • Kundalini yoga is very immersive and can be one of the most challenging, as it is both spiritually rich and extremely physical.  Breathing is at the forefront as well as chanting and singing. Kundalini yoga seeks to activate the energy on your spine to stimulate your shakti energy.
  • Ashtanga Work on a type of yoga where repetition is the sole focus. You will learn to master 6 poses perfected over time. Your focus and sense of self-awareness will help you feel very connected to your breathe.
  • Vinyasa If your wanting to challenge yourself and to really push your athletic ability then Vinyasa could be for you.
  • Hot yoga: Want to increase your level to expert?, You will do a variety of poses in an extremely hot room, making you work harder than usual.
  • Hatha Yoga, said to be one of the foundational types of yoga, this yoga focuses on over 20 different poses, calling for more variation than others.

If you are overwhelmed by the choices then maybe you would like to start by attending a retreat? At a retreat you can do a whole range of different styles mentioned and then find the one that you like best. This way you can find the most beneficial one for you, in a shorter amount of time. It’s all about discovering the perfect fit for you and can be a quest of discovery.

If your wanting a more intense experience why not try Hot Yoga Wellington? You will do poses in temperatures 32 degrees and higher. Both beginners and senior yogis are welcomed here, but be in for an intensive workout.
