About Madeline

I'm a native English speaker with a background in education and the arts. Alongside my English teaching, I work in facilitation and cultural programming, and that experience shapes how I teach — I bring a creative, hands-on approach to lessons rather than sticking to a fixed textbook format. I'm fully bilingual in Spanish, which lets me clearly explain concepts that are difficult to translate directly, and I teach English to students of all ages and levels — from complete beginners preparing for their first conversations to advanced speakers refining fluency for work or travel.

I take a thoughtful, individualized approach to every student I work with. Before we start, I take the time to understand what you're hoping to get out of lessons, whether that's building confidence to speak more freely, preparing for an exam, or getting ready for a trip. From there, I build lessons around your specific interests and goals, so every class feels relevant and worth your time.

About the lesson

My teaching approach:

I focus on conversational English that students can actually use, not textbook drills. Every lesson is built around topics my students genuinely care about — music, movies, culture, journalism, business, literature, sports, travel, and more — so the language sticks because it's tied to something they're motivated to talk about.

A typical lesson opens with a few minutes of casual check-in, then moves into the main focus for that day — a grammar point, a skill the student wants to build, or a topic they've brought up. We often end with conversation practice, using whatever we worked on. The structure holds steady, but I pay attention to how things are going and adjust the pace as we go, spending more time where it's needed or picking up speed when a student is ready.

What sets me apart:

I tailor every class specifically to the student in front of me — their interests, their goals, and where they're starting from. Whatever you're into, I want to hear about it, no matter how specific or niche, because I'll do the research myself to learn about that topic and build a class around it. I work with students who want to advance in their careers, prepare for exams, get ready to travel, or simply build the confidence to hold a conversation in English. No two lesson plans look the same, because no two students need the same thing.

I'm a native English speaker, fully bilingual in Spanish, so I can explain tricky concepts in either language when needed. I work with all levels, from complete beginners to more advanced speakers looking to sound more natural in everyday conversation.
