About Arturo
¡Hola! I'm Arturo Barillas—a bilingual math tutor, financial literacy educator, and former U.S. Marine with a passion for helping students succeed both in and beyond the classroom. With over a decade of experience in education and leadership, I specialize in making math understandable, relatable, and even enjoyable. Whether your child is struggling with basic concepts or preparing for advanced exams, I offer personalized support that builds confidence and long-term success. What I Offer: - Customized Lessons: I adapt each session to the student’s learning style, pace, and academic goals. - Real-Life Math Applications: I connect math to everyday situations—budgeting, time management, and problem-solving—to make learning meaningful. - Bilingual Instruction (English & Spanish): I support students and families in both languages, ensuring clear communication and cultural relevance. - Confidence Building: I help students overcome math anxiety and develop a growth mindset through encouragement and structured guidance. - Financial Literacy Integration: For older students, I introduce practical financial concepts to prepare them for real-world success. I believe every student can thrive with the right support. Let’s work together to turn confusion into clarity—and make math a tool for empowerment. iption, or subject listings too?

- Student-Centered Learning: I design lessons that prioritize each learner’s unique strengths, needs, and pace—fostering ownership and engagement in the learning process. - Real-Life Applications: I connect mathematical concepts to everyday situations—budgeting, time management, measurements, and problem-solving—so students see math as a practical life skill, not just a classroom subject. - Bilingual Communication: I deliver instruction in both English and Spanish, ensuring accessibility and comprehension for diverse learners while reinforcing academic language in both languages. - Confidence Through Understanding: I focus on building deep conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization, helping students develop lasting confidence and resilience in math. - Culturally Relevant Examples: I incorporate examples and scenarios that reflect students’ lived experiences, making math more relatable and meaningful. - Interactive and Adaptive Methods: I use hands-on activities, visual aids, and collaborative problem-solving to adapt to different learning styles and keep students actively engaged.
