I like to plan a lesson beforehand, tailoring it to the needs and characteristics of my students. This includes what materials I will use, the approximate time spent on each section of the lesson and what homework I will set. It is important that the student has taken something away from the lesson, as this is key to their gradual progress. For this reason I try to make sure my students have the best chance of retaining the information they have learnt.
