About Paulo

Hi, I’m Paulo, an Art Director with 20 years of experience in advertising.

Throughout my career, I have worked with visual ideas, storytelling, composition, design, and creative craft for brands and campaigns. Drawing has always been an important part of how I think, explore ideas, and communicate visually.

My background gives me a practical approach to teaching. I do not believe drawing is only about talent or copying techniques. I believe it is a skill that can be trained through observation, structure, practice, and confidence.

In my classes, I help students understand what they are seeing, improve their proportions, loosen up their sketching, and develop drawings with more personality. I like to create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and improving step by step.

My lessons are especially suited for adults and teenagers who want to build stronger foundations in portrait drawing, gesture drawing, anatomy, and personal expression.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Paulo. My drawing lessons are focused on helping adults and teenagers improve their observation, sketching confidence, and personal style.

My approach is practical, creative, and adapted to each student. Instead of following rigid formulas, we will work on learning how to see shapes, proportions, gesture, structure, and expression more clearly. The goal is to help you understand what you are drawing, not just copy steps from a tutorial.

Classes can include portrait drawing, gesture drawing, basic anatomy, sketchbook exercises, composition, and creative exploration. I usually combine short demonstrations, guided exercises, feedback on your drawings, and simple practice tasks you can continue after the lesson.

A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes, but the pace and structure can be adapted depending on your level and goals.

I’m an Art Director with 20 years of experience in advertising, working with visual ideas, composition, storytelling, and creative craft. Drawing has always been part of how I think and develop ideas, and I bring that practical creative experience into my classes.
