About Emily
My name is Emily Leavitt and I am very excited to work with you! If you need help discussing English, comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, technical vocabulary, writing for professionals, etc. I am here to help. It's a great adventure to learn a new language and just the right method and practice. I am an anglophone living in Paris from Tucson Arizona in the United States. I have a solid background in English writing and creative writing that I received at the University of Arizona. I have spent the last six years doing tutoring in English writing, math and science for kids and other college students. My teaching method is structured around the needs of each student. I will start by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the student but also its general level. Then I will suggest activities and exercises to help the student work on his weaknesses and improve his level. I will base the courses on the preferred learning mode for each student. The daily exercises will extend from the traditional paper pencil exercise to other methods like watching video and reading articles in English on the internet. English is my mother tongue and I took advanced English writing and poetry classes at the University of Arizona in the United States. I have worked as a home teacher in many subjects and different levels since 2012. I am ready and motivated to work with students of all ages with a good understanding of English as my courses will be taught only in English.
