About Stefanie

Language has always been more than just a tool for me — it’s a way to connect worlds, cultures, and people.

I’m a native German speaker and have been teaching languages for over 20 years. I started my teaching journey in 2004 at a bilingual school in Mexico, where I worked with children and teenagers from ages 3 to 19. Since 2010, I have been teaching languages to kids and adults from all over the world, at all levels from A1 to C2.

What I enjoy most is helping students not only “learn German”, but really make it their own — whether they need it for everyday life, work, studies, or more refined, academic or literary expression.

In addition to my long practical experience, I hold the CBEST (California Basic Educational Skills Test) and the Goethe-Institut DLL6 certificate (Deutsch Lehren Lernen) in curriculum and course design. This means I like teaching in a structured, thoughtful, and goal-oriented way — with a clear plan, but always adapted to the person in front of me.

My teaching style is calm, encouraging, and precise. I take grammar seriously, but I explain it in a way that makes it understandable and usable. I value real communication, clear progress, and a learning atmosphere where you feel both supported and challenged.

I enjoy working with beginners just as much as with advanced students, especially when the goal is to develop more confidence, nuance, and elegance in expression.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Stefanie — a native German speaker and an experienced language teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience.

I began teaching English in 2004 at a bilingual school in Mexico, where I worked with children and teenagers from ages 3 to 19. Since 2010, I’ve been teaching German to kids and adults of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students who want to refine their professional, academic, or written expression.

In addition to my practical teaching background, I hold the CBEST (California Basic Educational Skills Test) and the Goethe-Institut DLL6 certificate (Deutsch Lehren Lernen) with a focus on curriculum development and course design. This means I don’t just teach intuitively — I also know how to structure learning processes in a clear, effective, and goal-oriented way.

My lessons are always tailored to your needs and can include:
• Conversation and fluency building
• Grammar explained clearly and practically
• Exam preparation (Goethe, TestDaF, etc.)
• German for work, career, and professional contexts
• Academic, literary, or more sophisticated language use

My teaching style is patient, structured, and encouraging, but also focused and efficient. I care about helping you really understand the language — and to use it with confidence in real life, at work, or in your studies.

Whether you are starting from zero or polishing advanced skills, I will meet you where you are and support you step by step with a clear plan and realistic goals.

Stefanie is an amazing astrologist. She did a reading for my son who at the time of the reading was home sick for several months. In his chart he saw that he is a talented athlete and that he would have an opportunity to play soccer internationally. A few weeks later this opportunity came out of left field and indeed it turned into an offer for him to play soccer in Spain.
Stefanie described him to the T and was able to interpret his challenges as well.
This reading has been increasingly helpful as both my son and I (as his parent) got a good picture of what he needs to do to stay on top of his talent and stay away from those things that aren’t for his highest good.
