About Rafael

I have always loved math and physics, but like many students, I once struggled to understand how these subjects connected to real life. Everything changed in grade 11 when I designed and built my own rocket. That project allowed me to see math and science in action, and it transformed the way I viewed these subjects forever. This moment sparked the passion that led me to pursue aerospace engineering, earn my PMP certification, and build a career as an aerospace engineering project manager. During my journey, I also spent three years teaching and mentoring students from grades 6 to 12 through engineering outreach programs. I created engaging lessons that showed how math and science shape the world around us and how these skills are essential in engineering design and problem solving. This passion for inspiring young learners has taken me to unexpected places. One of the most memorable was standing at the top of the CN Tower meeting an astronaut, something I would never have imagined when I first discovered my love for STEM. My goal is to make learning math and physics exciting, welcoming, and meaningful. Albert Einstein once said, “Look deep into nature, and you will understand everything better.” I hope to help you experience that same sense of curiosity and confidence by showing how these subjects explain the world and open the door to countless possibilities.

About the lesson

I teach math and physics through a structured, engineering-based approach that connects classroom theory to real-world applications. With five years of experience as an aerospace engineering project manager, I routinely use complex mathematical and physics principles to solve technical challenges and deliver successful project outcomes. My lessons draw on that experience, showing students how these subjects are essential in engineering design and problem-solving. I also spent three years as an engineering outreach ambassador and engineering camp counsellor, where I developed engaging lesson plans, interactive activities, and clear explanations for students from grade 6 to grade 12. A typical lesson blends theory, step-by-step practice, and practical engineering examples to build confidence, understanding, and long-term mastery. I hold a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering and the PMP certification.
