About Conrad

Currently, I have a 4.0 GPA in math and physics at the University of Utah. I am taking actively taking graduate courses in these subjects, and have taken almost every relevant undergraduate course in these fields. For the past few years I have tutored all levels of undergrad college mathematics.

ACT: 35
SAT: 1550

Awards: I received a departmental scholarship for math at the U, top undergraduate researcher in condensed matter physics 2021-22 , I have won the undergraduate math competition at the U of U 2 fall seasons in a row, and facilitated the math competition in the spring. Also, more importantly, I try to work hard every day and I love(!!!!) math and physics

About Me: I have worked as a tutor in undergraduate math for the past 3+years. I love tutoring others because I have a passion for math and physics, and enjoy helping others feel the connection and insights that I have made within the subject. I love when something I explain really resonates with the student, because it means that they are bridging crucial gaps in their understanding. Also, in full honesty, I like solving the crazy problems that students may throw at me (!), and it is healthy for me to teach and review the material. My ideal student is one that is highly motivated to learn and work hard outside of our sessions, that I work with long term, and I believe this combination will allow the student to make rapid progress in the subject, and eventually gain skills to help them better succeed in the universe of mathematics and their future.

About the lesson

I am offering tutoring for almost every level of college mathematics or physics (or, for motivated students at lower levels). You can contact me directly to ask if I am able to tutor a specific course. For reference, for the past several years I have tutored a full range of undergraduate mathematics at the U of U.

The lesson structure depends if the tutoring is long or short term. In the latter case, we will delve immediately into the material and attempt to clarify any issues the student is having. In the former, we will formulate a study plan during 1st half of 1st session, and build a schedule for the student that helps them achieve their goals over a specific timeframe.

I am highly focused on the student learning the content of the course, and achieving a level of understanding that can be applied to various problems. We may review algorithms for solving a specific problem, but I will always make sure the student understands why a certain method works, and try to motivate a deeper connection to the source material that is so essential to mastery of the subject.
