About Carolyn

Being a creative and sharing your talent is a gift, you just need to be given the tools to make it happen! I believe in a supportive and reassuring approach to teaching, where students can thrive and feel confident to make mistakes. We can't grow without making mistakes, that is just a part of life. I am willing to help build people up and give them the confidence and motivation to grow as a performer and a creative. I have been to drama school and worked in the creative industry (in front and behind the camera) for over 5 years. I know what challenges performers face at every stage of their career, whether it be - auditioning for drama school, going through your training and facing the industry. So I want to share my experiences with young performers so they can go into the industry knowing how to navigate any situation that comes their way.

About the lesson

I have taught at children's drama schools, worked as a TA in schools and led after school clubs with highly reputable companies. I fell in love with teaching because I felt like it was my responsibility to help support and guide younger people to find their calling and develop important skills for life. Lessons are typically 1 - 2 hours taking enough time to warm up sufficiently. All of my techniques are taken straight from drama school classes and from on the job experience. Lesson breakdowns - Learning efficient script analysis and how to break down dialogue. - Learning exercises to help with character development and voice work. - Voice and body warm-ups - including body awareness - Voice exercises. - Self-tape support. - Stanislavski. - Alexander Technique. My professional certificates include; Enhanced DBS Certificate (on the update service) Safeguarding in Education certificate Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Course & Anaphylaxis and Epipen Training

£15 per hour 1st hour is free for all students Plus any required expenses including; booking studio space, providing materials and resources. £5 off when booking 5 or more classes in bulk booking.
