About Alex
The origin of my acting adventures started at the tender age of 3 when my old Nan told me that the only way I could join the Ghostbusters was to be an actor. Refusing to have the illusion shattered I began a lifetime journey into the art of storytelling .
I have played a variety of characters on stage and screen: sea captain, conman, vampire.
The most bizarre role was the voice of a talking-floating bin bag.
As I have had success and failure in different forms, I know how to teach the coping methods for both.
So, without giving away ALL the trade secrets the key to success is enthusiasm and persistence...

I have been a working actor on both stage and screen for the last 20+ years, with a degree in Film Studies.
It is important to assess the raw talent of each student, but it is equally as important to find out what THEY want from the classes: what are their dreams? Aspirations? Goals?
Once the classes are under way I train them how to nurture and control that talent and turn it into a performance.
In the first classes we work with improvisation - teaching them to stay alert at all times, be aware of their surroundings and quick-thinking.
The following classes we will work with scripts and text - interpreting the words of writers and performing them in various ways.
Then we tailor those performances to the relevant medium - film, theatre, street-theatre,etc.
Not only am I approachable, patient and open, but I have a unique sense of humour that is encouraging and reassuring.
With my own performance background I am well versed in the demands of the different types of media.
