About Alyssa
I have been teaching ESL for 3 years, in a combination of group lessons and individual. Many of my students find that after just a few sessions, they are noticeably more intelligible in their spoken English. I enjoy working with adults, professionals, and advanced speakers who just want to increase their pronunciation ability.

I approach accent reduction with the goal of increased intelligibility in mind. I assess which phonological patterns a speaker is struggling with, based on their primary language and other factors. I teach Standard American Phonology, looking at specific sound patterns as well as intonation and stress.
