About Grace
I enjoy working with students to make connections between prior knowledge and new concepts. I strive to understand the whole learner and utilize strategies and supports that target the learning style of the student to enhance memory recall.
I enjoying helping students see their potential and growth. I enjoy helping students feel confident about themselves and their ability to be successful. I enjoy helping students become critical thinkers and self advocates for themselves and their needs within the learning process.
It all began with a phone call from my mother who was a math specialist at the time in Aldine ISD. She said she needed my help with a group of students who were so far unsuccessful at passing the state test and who struggled behaviorally in the classroom. I said yes and began teaching High School Math the next day.
I am a certified math teacher grades 4-12 that taught math for 10 years before becoming a district specialist in Special Education that supports Inclusive Instruction and individual student needs. I now coach teachers and campus staff on supporting learners.

It is important for me to get to know the whole learner, build a rapport and relationship with the learner and the parent. I like to review data for the student that includes MAP growth reports, STAAR score reports, previous classroom assessments and additional information if it is available for students who receive 504 or Special Education services. This information helps me target areas of strength and weakness and build a better plan for supporting the learner and maximizing our time together.
All ages. I currently support campuses from Elementary to High School in my job. I have provided tutoring to individual students in both intermediate and high school in multiple subject areas.
