About Melanie

Licensed middle school math teacher with experience working with students with disabilities and teach 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade math (pre-algebra and algebra).

I am a licensed middle school teacher with three years of experience teaching 8th-grade math and preparing students to take the 8th grade Math MCAS exam. I also have two years of experience teaching 9th-grade algebra and one year of experience teaching 7th-grade math and working as a learning specialist during which I supported students with disabilities in their math classes. I have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration & Management and a Master's in Education (Curriculum and Teaching), both from Boston University.

About the lesson

When working with new students I inquire about how they learn best, their strengths, areas of growth, and goals. By learning more about my students I am able to ensure they feel successful during our sessions by utilizing their strengths to develop their areas of growth and reach their goals.
