About Yolanda
My name is Yolanda, a young university student currently 2nd year BSc Medical Bioscience student at the University of Western Cape. Majors : Human Anatomy & Physiology, Medical microbiology, Biotechnology and Statistics and chemistry. Originally from Durban but currently located in Cape Town. I am an inquisitive, driven, passionate and ambitious young female student within the Medical Science field. As I study towards a profession in the Medical field, I aim to bid a professional career as a Medical Scientist and through further studies to also be part of the most impactful Medical Research Institutions in South Africa and abroad. I yearn to work hand in hand with experienced professionals in studying clinical disorders and all types of diseases that threaten human health, manufacture & administrate medications to treat patients to achieve a disease free world. My high school subjects were chosen based on a passionate experience of teaching and learning. I recognized my skill of being a good teacher which came as a form of compliment from numerous learners and students and internally I discovered that I always find effective ways to explain and demonstrate the context of certain subjects with my fellow high school mates. I also teach my younger cousins, help them with homework. Aside from my academics, I am a sport person, obsessed with eating healthy, working out and meditation. I'm also interested in fashion,enjoy reading, baking, cooking, watching documentaries, visiting museums, art galleries and nature reserves. One of my drive is to always look life from a perspective of learning because life never stops teaching.
