About Merle

My name is Merle and I am 21 years old. I became a student back in 2019. Since then I have worked and traveled in various countries. Including Singapore, Vietnam, Mexico and Spain. I lived in Spain for a year where I also worked and learned Spanish.

I've been teaching since I was in high school, and I always think it's a pleasure. I live in Vesterbro, but am often with my family in Haslev on the weekends.

My teaching room is a place where there is room for learning in a safe environment, where it is okay to fail, and where we collaborate on , what kind of teaching works for you. There is also room for one to take a break and you can tell if you have something on your mind, or feel like asking in to me and who I am.

About the lesson

At the first lesson, we will spend time just getting to know each other, and otherwise find out where you as a student are academically. From there, I make a plan and we talk about how you yourself feel you are learning best. I will make some suggestions, and the teaching will of course vary, so it is not the same with each teaching.

English: Here we focus on, among other things, vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar. I use turntables and texts for vocabulary. For pronunciation, I would like to give in lesson that you should see a section of a good series, which we choose together. And otherwise we talk a lot together. We take the grammar along the way, and focus on the topics that cause the most problems.

A typical lesson:
- We take a grammatically incorrect text, read it aloud and cross out all words that the student is not familiar with
- The words are translated and the student explains what the text is about (for example)
- We find the errors in the text and the student explains (with help) why it is an error.
- We can then add more words to this topic in a flip game, and end with a little conversation about the chosen topic, or something else if the student has something on his mind.

In this way, 45 min. to 1 hour quickly gone.

English: Is the same principle all dependent on whether you are foreigners and start from scratch or just need a little extra help for a style where it can be difficult to articulate. You may also need to analyze a text.

With previous students, I have only had positive experiences. I have taught a young person from 9th grade in English, and a 34 year old Spanish woman in Danish. I can teach 0.-9. class Danish and English. I can provide homework help in English at the high school level as well as Spanish at the high school level. I have worked with students who have difficulty concentrating, and then we have created a reward system to get the motivation going, with extra focus positive feedback.

Details

Cancelling policy is flexible. If you are sick or other urgent matters appear you will not have to pay a fee. I prefer cancellation to happen the day before class and also before 12.00pm.
