About Tasleem
I love to teach, inspire and motivate in an engaging and collaborative way. I believe in breaking down concepts in simple ways for greater understanding. Once basic conceptual understanding is in place students are able to handle questions more confidently and this in turn helps students improve upon their grades. I have a record of improving student grades from C/D/E up to A’s.
I enjoy teaching online and through the pandemic this allowed me to elevate the level of engagement techniques I have with students. I am able to share my practical real world experience from multinationals and the Big 4 so that students can easily relate to theoretical concepts. I am a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and earned my degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of Manchester.
I have taught College and University level Accounting, Finance, Business Studies and Economics as well as dissertation supervision for Undergraduates and Masters Students since 2018. I also have a deep and practical understanding of the topics I teach gained in over 20 year’s experience in real world financial management roles. Early and focused exam preparation is key to maximising students successfully and confidently attempting any exam question.
I am fully committed to inspiring, motivating and increasing confidence in all my students which ultimately leads them to shine in their studies.

What kind of experience, education & qualifications do you have?
I am a qualified chartered certified accountant with over 20 year’s experience in industry and the Big 4. I have held numerous financial planning and management roles as well as advisory and audit roles. I have an Accounting & Finance degree from the University of Manchester a Russell Group University.
In recent years I have been focusing on teaching college and University level students which I truly enjoy, I particularly enjoy getting students through their exams confidently and successfully.
How do you teach?
I like to instil the joy of learning, have engaging lessons and make learning relevant in today’s context.
Initially I would be keen to explore and evaluate a student’s current level of understanding of a subject before agreeing on a specific learning strategy. As part of this process, I like to understand what the student needs to work towards (usually an exam) and any challenging areas for improvement. Together we can understand the learning objectives required and timescales to achieve the learning objectives. Learning may typically involve going through the conceptual framework, practise of past papers, timed quizzes and tests. I would approach beginners by going through the basics, for those familiar with key concepts I would probably gear towards working on past exam papers and the examination kit.
My extensive real world experience in multinational companies aids my teaching methodology in which I use my knowledge and experience gained to share using practical real word examples that help students relate to accounting theory.

The subjects I teach are Accounting (Financial, Management and Cost), Audit and Assurance, Business Studies, Dissertations.
