About Julie
Hi, I'm Julie! I'm from the Boston area of Massachusetts. I am currently a graduate student at Simmons University pursuing a Master of Social Work. I tutor English, reading/writing,. and foreign languages to learners of all ages. My favorite part of tutoring is helping students find a way of learning that works best for them. I will work with students until they are not only competent, but confident, in any aspect of their tutored subject. As a social work student with experience working as a therapist, I strive to provide a welcoming and accepting environment for all involved. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, photography, and spending time with loved ones and pets.

Foreign languages have always been fascinating to me, and I began studying Spanish in middle school. I continued my studies all the way through high school, where I scored a 5 on my AP Spanish exam. I went on to continue my studies at the undergraduate level, eventually deciding to double major in Psychology and Hispanic Language and Literature at Boston University, where I took several graduate-level Spanish classes as well. Spanish was one of the first subjects I tutored, and continues to be something I love to teach. I know that learning languages can be challenging, and I am passionate about finding different ways to explain things to my students until we find one that makes sense for you! I will tailor a lesson plan to your specific level, needs, and learning style. Whether you are starting from the very beginning or have some working knowledge and want to brush up on skills, we can do it together.
