About Sophia
Piano instruction represents my life since childhood. I honestly struggle when students sacrifice technique for speed, so I prioritize a solid foundation first.
My 3 years of teaching experience informs how I guide pupils through scales, arpeggios, and complex dynamics. Developing hand independence and sight playing skills defines my approach. I hold a Master of Music in Music Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music to ensure technical accuracy. Getting students to perform confidently within a single term remains my top priority.

Keys feel like cold ivory until your fingers warm them up through deliberate practice. During our first meeting, I conduct a diagnostic playing assessment to establish a clear learning plan.
This method utilizes my 3 years of experience to address specific hurdles like chord voicing and rhythm. ABRSM and Trinity exam preparation forms the core of our structured time together. We work on timing while maintaining a calm environment for steady progress.
I focus heavily on expression so that the music sounds human and vibrant. Finding joy in the process makes the hard work feel effortless.
