About Charlie
Graduating with a MMus in Violin from the Eastman School of Music, I recall how the physical resonance of a perfectly tuned string first caught my attention. My 13 years of teaching are anchored in the Suzuki method, focusing on listening before reading. I prioritize the foundational mechanics of intonation, sight reading, and vibrato for all my students.
Developing left hand agility and mastering complex classical repertoire is a standard part of our work together. Watching my students gain seats in regional and national youth orchestras remains a distinct pleasure for me.

Progressing through a piece feels slower than it looks. I admit that my ears are often quicker than my fingers during initial practice sessions.
I start with a diagnostic assessment before setting the practice plan for your technical development. We refine your spiccato and staccato bowing through consistent, focused repetition.
