About Geneva

Training in the Central European tradition provided a rigorous foundation during my diploma studies at the New England Conservatory. I often recall the quiet discipline of those early conservatory practice rooms. Working with students for 7 years has refined my perspective.

Many of my students are adult-restarts returning to the violin after years away. I have guided 228 students in total through their technical development. It is genuinely rewarding to support players as they rediscover their musical voice.

About the lesson

Many string players struggle with tension that ruins their tone quality during high pressure passages. Tension in the shoulders or wrists often prevents a smooth bow stroke before the music even begins.

I focus on posture and hold to resolve these physical barriers. Intonation, rhythm, timing, and ear training form the core of our technical work.

I integrate spiccato and staccato bowing to build articulation. Scales and arpeggios provide the necessary framework for classical repertoire mastery.

I draft custom scale and etude sheets for each student to address specific technical gaps. My 7 years of experience informs how I select these materials. The goal is to see you perform your favorite pieces with complete physical ease. We will move toward your musical objectives at a pace that feels sustainable.
