About Abbie
I am a recent Master's graduate from the London School of Economics where I achieved a Distinction in Human Rights. Prior to this, I graduated with a First Class degree in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford. I also have 4 A*s at A-Level in Biology, History, Economics and English Literature. I have 5 years experience tutoring students at a range of levels - from GCSE to Degree level. I also advise prospective university students on personal statements and interview technique, and have helped 3 students gain admission to the University of Oxford for Human Sciences. I truly love the interdisciplinary nature of Human Sciences, which uses Biology, Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Politics, and more to comprehend the nature of the human. I am particularly interested public health, authoring both my dissertations on the rises in health inequalities during the technological age. My Master's dissertation was awarded a prize for best overall performance, and I hope to publish it in the near future.

My lessons are guided by the needs of the student and their learning style. I typically approach content learning through establishing a two-way exchange of information with the student, prompting them to think about academic topics in novel ways. This mirrors the Oxbridge 'tutorial' or 'supervision' format. I provide detailed feedback to students after a lesson, as well as any study materials and notes used in the session. I also send further readings which may strengthen their understandings of certain topics. I am also open to students contacting me outside of lesson time for urgent enquiries - e.g. if they have an urgent deadline. Lessons tend to last 1 hour, however I am flexible on this.
