About Mary
I remember the exact moment the piano became my primary language. It was a chaotic rehearsal in Mexico City that demanded instant improvisation. I brought that intensity into my 13 years of teaching and helped 128 students find their own voice.
My credentials include a Licenciatura en Música and a BM from Berklee. I focus on jazz improvisation, sight transposition, and technical chord voicing. I teach absolute beginners and performance-focused teens to master the keys with precision. Helping you achieve your musical goals is my primary focus.

The first session starts with the cool touch of ivory keys and the resonance of a well-voiced chord filling the room. We explore classical repertoire and complex sight reading by connecting those technical challenges to the evolution of jazz and Latin traditions. My background with degrees from UNAM and Berklee ensures that we cover everything from ABRSM exam preparation to accompaniment skills.
I find immense satisfaction in watching students gain independence at the instrument through disciplined practice. It is a pleasure to guide your progress.
