About Etta
Sitting at my piano with a BMus in Vocal Performance and a minor in piano from Berklee, I recall the early lessons that shaped my career. Having guided 422 students through the nuances of music, I prioritize a deep understanding of chord voicing and music theory to ensure long-term growth.
Developing a solid foundation in pedaling technique allows for a more expressive sound that resonates throughout the room. Sight transposition and ear training sessions help you internalize the structure of the music, which is why I emphasize these core skills across my 13 years of teaching. It just sort of flows from there.

Stiff fingers often prevent the music from breathing as it should on the keys. Imagine the sound of a resonant chord softening under your touch as you finally master the mechanics of the sustain pedal. Practice. Weekly practice modules assigned with every class ensure you have a clear map for your independent studies between our meetings.
I integrate sight transposition and complex chord voicing to build your technical capacity. You will find that music theory becomes a tool for creative freedom rather than a dry academic chore. We track your ear training progress through structured exercises that sharpen your internal perception. Every session is designed to make the difficult parts feel natural and simple.
